Emily Chingay
Emily does city-wide advocacy at Open Plans. She works to raise awareness about public space equity and elevates community engagement by empowering people to make their own community decisions.
After receiving her Bachelor’s in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University, she worked as a liaison to the Department of Sanitation doing outreach for their Curbside Composting Program. Her passion for sustainability goes back to elementary school, thanks to a gardening club hosted by the school nurse. In her free time, Emily likes to crochet her own sweaters, bike around the city, and run the occasional weekend 5K.
