Sabina Sethi Unni
Sabina is an urban planner, organizer, and public artist passionate about using creative community engagement strategies to build out joyful public spaces for schools. Sabina joined Open Plans as an intern in June 2022, exploring school streets and creating a comprehensive report. She has continued that work engaging with schools and helping them apply for their own school streets.
She is interested in the intersections between open spaces, climate resiliency, and play, and is a public space programmer with the Department of Transportation performing a children’s play about climate and composting throughout Open Streets in NYC.
Sabina is a New City Critic with the Architecture League and Urban Design Forum, and recently graduated with a Masters in Urban Planning from Columbia GSAPP. Born and raised in Long Island, she is deeply involved in climate organizing in Nassau, east Queens, and Rockaway.
