Lisa Orman
Lisa joined Open Plans in 2018, where she co-launched the Neighborhood Empowerment Project. Today, Lisa leads a team of talented tactical urbanists, on-the-ground street & public space advocates and policy thinkers.
Over the past 15 years, first as the co-leader of The Upper West Side Streets Renaissance Campaign and as director at StreetopiaUWS, Lisa has helped shape the landscape of the Upper West Side, advocating for better walking and biking conditions for all Upper West Siders.
Previously, Lisa was on the Advisory Council of Transportation Alternatives, acting as its first co-chair and on the boards of Streets Media. She currently serves on the boards of Chekpeds and Vision Hero. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a BA in Psychology from The University of Chicago.
