Adrian Cacho
Adrian’s commitment to community building and organizing led him to join Open Plans where he hopes to continue to work towards making New York City’s streets more livable and accessible for all. With a passion for racial justice, environmental justice, and transportation alternatives, Adrian envisions a city that invests more in public spaces and public transit that serves all communities equitably.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Adrian has dedicated much of his career to supporting his neighbors. His local perspective has been shaped by his time with Assembly Member Chantel Jackson and City Council Member Pierina Sanchez where he managed constituent services and provided direct support and resources to the community. His global perspective has been shaped by his time as a Peace Corps volunteer and his travel experiences during undergrad where he explored how local and global challenges intersect. These experiences reinforced his belief that addressing all issues requires centering the voices of the communities most affected.
When Adrian isn’t working, you can find him running through the streets of New York City, reading a book at a neighborhood coffee shop, or cheering on the Knicks at any given moment.
