Join us at NYC School of Data 2026 — BetaNYC's annual civic tech and open data conference — for a panel bringing together policy experts, technologists, and community advocates to explore how Low Traffic Neighborhoods (LTNs) could transform NYC streets into safer, quieter, and more livable spaces.
We'll break down what LTNs are, how NYC Open Data can help identify the neighborhoods that need them most, and what it would take to bring this street design approach to scale across the city. From collision data to transit access to community vulnerability, discover how data, advocacy, and community voice can work together to reclaim NYC's streets for the people who live on them.
For the panel discussion, we will be joined by:
Talya Schwartz, Senior Strategist, Open Plans
David Scatterday, Managing Director, Scatterday & Associates
Catherine Vaughan, Executive Director, Abundance NY
Pedro Rodriguez, Queens Community Board 6 and Street Safety Advocate
The session will be moderated by our very own, Sara Lind, Co-Executive Director of Open Plans.
📅 Saturday, March 28 | 2:30-3:30 pm EDT
