OpenTripPlanner Project Lead

David was hooked on transit at an early age; at three months old he was among the youngest passengers aboard the inaugural train trip of his hometown transit system, MARTA, and has been riding ever since. Prior to joining OpenPlans, he spent five years at the Atlanta Regional Commission, where he worked on transit policy issues and helped established a regional open transit data initiative. In his spare time, David developed one of the earliest open source multimodal trip itinerary planning applications, and later became an active contributor to the OpenTripPlanner project.

David received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Brown University and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech. He lives carfree in Atlanta, which is not as difficult as it sounds.
