Welcome to The Civic Hacker
Hello and welcome to the Civic Hacker.
How do we change the world for the better, using technology? We don’t know, but we won’t let that stop us from talking about it. That’s what we’ll be talking about on this blog.
“We” is the members of The Open Planning Project (TOPP), and the TOPP Labs group.
The blog itself is a discussion-in-public. If this works, you’ll see us argue and construct ideas through the blog, not just project our fully-formed conclusions.
Ideas do not exist in isolation, so we’ll be spending a lot of time noting and commenting on what other people are doing in this area. This is also not a competition; if someone takes your idea to improve the world and implements it, or improves on it, or shows its flaws, that helps us all.
Please keep an eye on the author field. While this blog has an editor, each post has an author, and that’s the person who is speaking.
