2009
2008
- The Livable Streets Initiative emerges, combining Streetsblog and Streetfilms with collaborative tools to connect Livable Streets advocates everywhere.
- Launch of Streetsblog Network, the national blog network for sustainable transport, smart growth, and livable streets.
- Launch of Streetsblog Los Angeles, a west coast affiliate of Streetsblog.
- Launch of Gotham Schools, an advocacy blog helping NYC education stakeholders improve the city's massive school system.
- TOPP launches Livable Streets Education, a program that brings transportation and engaged citizenship into schools via age-appropriate curricula.
- TOPP formally launches OpenGeo, our geospatial software wing that has been providing boutique consulting services for the previous 7 years.
2007
- Work begins on Melkjug, a newsfeed tool that helps active citizens stay current and save time.
- Launch of Streetfilms, a video blog highlighting Livable Streets news and best practices. In Streetfilms’ first year, its videos were watched over 500,000 times.
2006
- Launch of Streetsblog, a blog providing daily coverage of transportation, land use, and environmental issues in NYC. Early scoops include The $46 Million Parking Perk.
- TOPP founds OpenPlans, a toolbox for grassroots campaign websites. Today, this software powers the Livable Streets Network, other social change efforts, and scientific research groups.
2005
- TOPP launches the NYC Streets Renaissance, a campaign to transform transportation planning in New York City. Over the next three years, NYCSR will help usher in a forward-thinking Department of Transportation, redirect millions of city planning dollars, and bring New Yorkers of all stripes into the transportation planning process.

- TOPP founds GeoServer. Today, GeoServer helps people around the world to manage, share and use geospatial information.
