Eyes on the street, comments on the web.

Gathering neighborhood info on maps is great (and we have the ideal tool for it), but sometimes, you really want to show and tell. So we built a tool to do just that. Try it out.

Project Fitzgerald is the second tool emerging from our ongoing fascination with using Google Street View for planning. Beautiful Streets helped evaluate places by comparing between two streets, now we’re making it easy to gather written comments.

Fitzgerald helps gather information on a series of locations, block by block. Use it to gather input ahead of public workshops, to get a more complete understanding of the neighborhood. Each comment is linked to the view you see when commenting (like this crosswalk report). Using the map below the image, people can shuffle from intersection to intersection and view comments left by neighbors.

We wrapped Fitzgerald up in a WordPress plugin, to make the proces of managing the comments and locations really easy. You can also get it from our Github. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
