More than 200 transportation enthusiasts braved the cold weather and attended TransportationCamp DC on Saturday, January 21st. OpenPlans organized the event in partnership with Mobility Lab and Greater Greater Washington.
Planners, techies, and community activists spent the day talking about important transportation issues. These included:
- open source vs. proprietary
- citizen engagement in transportation planning
- blogs and transit advocacy
- using crowd sourcing technology to determine bike share locations
and many more.
In spirit of the unconference tradition, the sessions’ grid was assembled on the spot – based on everyone’s suggestions that morning.
Zoom in to the board to get a flavor of the fantastic discussions, brain storming sessions, demos and presentations.
